SLJ - Activity 3: Stranger than Fiction

Lets compare the Lithop plant to the

 Mimosa Pudica plant


SIMILARITIES

🌷Both Lithop plant and the Mimosa Pudica plant grows on land.

🌹Both the Lithop plant and the Mimosa Pudica plant has flowers and leaves.

🌷Both plants has a good root system.


DIFFERENCES

🌹 The Lithop plant is found in South Africa while you will find the Mimosa Pudica
mainly in South America.

🌷The Lithop plant have rock like leaves where the Mimosa Pudica plant have fern
like leaves.

🌹 The Lithop plant grows a little plant from inside the old plant.
The Mimosa Pudica plant is grown from seed.

    What a strange looking plant the Lithop is. I don't think I've ever seen one like that before. Were you able to find out what it is about South Africa's climate that helps it grow there? The Mimosa Pudica reminds me of a tree we have in our front yard - the flowers are a bit different but the leaves look very similar. I wonder if it grows in New Zealand as well. Do you know?
