SLJ - Activity 2: The Plastic Pledge

I asked my mum about of the removal of the plastic bags and this is what she said: "I think it is a good idea, because it will  definitely decrease the number of rubbish in the environment.

Where I come from (South Africa) there is a lot of plastic bags on the streets. IT LOOKS AWFUL

On the other hand, it was very convenient to always have bags just given to me. I will have to get used to bringing my own bags."

  1. Hi Elijescha,

I agree with your mum. If the Summer Learning Journey has taught me anything, it's that we need to take better care of our planet, and getting rid of plastic bags is a great start. It is a bit of an adjustment though - I've been using reusable bags for awhile now and even I still forget them sometimes. I try to remember to put them back in my car after I've unpacked my groceries, that way they're there when I need them.

    Blog ya later! :)

  2. Hello Elijescha! I agree with your mother that this movement will help decrease the amount of pollution. There is enough waste as it is so we can at least help start to get rid of it. We usually prefer to use our own bags when going grocery shopping, so I'm use to it. Do you know what other material could replace plastic? Keep it up!

  3. Hi Elijescha,

Wow! I loved the outcome of your work as it was super incredible. I would totally agree with you as most of our oceans/rivers/lakes have been polluted because of all sorts of rubbish we are throwing on the ground, through the drains and in the oceans, which is terrible for our fish.

I really like your mums answer as it is right that plastic bags are whats causing pollution but then again all the blame is to be put on us, as it's us who are throwing or chucking our rubbsih on the ground.

Overall great work Elijescha, keep up the great work and I can't wait to see more soon.

How do you feel about this?

    Bye,
    Hinerangi
